I study why and how individuals and teams from one or more
organizations cooperate and create value in today’s environment. I'm
particularly interested in the intersection and co-evolution of communication,
socio-cognitive, and action processes. I tend to focus on coherence as an
emerging quality of these processes.
My research addresses generic challenges in organization and
communication theory (e.g. cooperation, coherence, dealing with uncertainty,
intra and interorganizational processes), as well as applied challenges in
various domains (e.g. governmental processes, incident and crisis response,
military operations, commercial organizations and for instance improvisational
arts). Different types of organizational value creation call for different
modes of organizing and communicating.
I collaborate and have collaborated with researchers
from the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, Greece, Hong Kong, The Netherlands and
Singapore. I participate or participated in communities such as
the Academy of Management (e.g. OMT and OCIS community), European Group of
Organization Studies, International Conference on Information Systems, and the
Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society. My profile is on LinkedIn, SSRN and Erasmus IDEAS/RePEc.
